How You Make Me See Me explores mixed race experiences with representation, marginalisation and personal identity in post colonial society. Through this body of work, How You Make Me See Me looks at the belief that mixed raced people grow to alter their identity to fit what they are labelled by those around them. The belief that we are one or the other but not either or. These ideas aim to bring awareness to how the western default has penetrated how we see and perceive people, from beauty to heritage to identity. Combining Scottish and Native American culture, How You Make Me See Me aims to show a visual representation of this natural blend of  heritage in mixed race peoples, and empower mixed race people to embrace all that they are.
